PUREOLOGY - Products that Truly Maintain the Life of your Haircolor

Like many, I typically get my hair colored every 6 weeks.  I was once told that it is more important to pay a lot to have your hair look great because you wear it every day.  Although this is a great philosophy, I realize that not everyone can afford going to a salon every 6 weeks.

Renee used Pureology to wash my hair.  I prefer a volumizing shampoo and conditioner, so Renee used the PureVolume System.  Unlike other volumizing products, PureVolume not only adds volume to your hair but it also protects your color.

Prior to styling she added a product called Hydrate Shinemax.  She then blew dry my hair, and WOW!  This made such a difference!  My hair was so much smoother and shinier than I have ever seen.

Spring 2010 Faves!

With all of the snow we have recently received in the eastern United States, I can't wait for the Spring season! I have put together a list of some of the trends that will be seen. I also made sure that the items listed below are wearable trends, since I am a working mother.

Top Trends for Spring 2010:

1. Trench Coats - I highly recommend that everyone get one! Every store I have been in recently is carrying these. Target has a great selection of trench coats in bright colors for those on a budget, only $39. These are essential to great style during the rainy weather.

2. Patterned Skirts - I suggest getting a skirt with bright bold print. These skirts are a lot of fun and look great with the new spring sandals.

3. Boyfriend blazers - This style can be pulled off well when paired with a feminine piece such as a sequin tank.

4. Torn Denim - Pair this with a bright blazer and you will definitely have style.

5. Clogs & Wedges - The IT shoe for the season! These can be easily worn with a little dress or skinny jeans.

6. Lace - Lace has been spotted on just about everything. From dresses, tops, tights, shoes and accessories. There are tops and dresses with a little lace, and others that are all lace. You choose!

7. Floral dresses -From big pops of colors to tiny prints - it's all about being boho chic this season.  

8. Sequined tops - All about the glitz & glam, dress them up or go casual as they look great with a boyfriend blazer.

9. Nautical - Stripes galore! This classic look never goes off our radar. Need some inspiration? Think Audrey Hepburn. Pair a boat neck tee with a classic blazer and skinny jeans to update. 

10. Pants - Linen & crisp white pants are the way to go this spring. Pair them with leg-lengthening heels for a luxe look or opt for a relaxed style with gladiator sandals.

HELLO, I'M A MAC!

Over a year ago I purchased a 13" Apple MacBook.  My family and I loved the MacBook so much that we decided to purchase a second MacBook, and went with the 15" MacBook Pro.


So you ask . . .why would we purchase two Apple MacBook Pro's?


1.  They are extremely easy to use.  With four children, we needed something that was easy to use and durable enough to withstand the kids.  


2.  Relatively small in size, very lightweight, and extremely durable.  


3.  They deliver great style, power, and performance.  Our older laptop starts up and runs just as fast as the newer model.


4.  They don't get PC viruses, and there's no need to buy additional security protection software.


5.  Easily connect to other devices and just work.  There is no need to install software before being able to use a new printer or download pictures from a camera.


6.  Updates are "pushed" to your computer automatically and are completed within minutes.

7.  The LED backlight display provides great image quality for movie viewing and game playing.

8.  For those that are environmentally-conscious, the MacBook's are energy efficient and recyclable.  The battery lasts for a long time.  I consider myself a power-user, and get around 7 hours before having to recharge.

9.  #1 in Customer Satisfaction - The online support is phenomenal.  Months after I purchased the second Apple MacBook I received a call from Apple Care to inform me that I didn't have the extended support.  I explained to them that I was pretty sure I had purchased it, but didn't recall ever receiving the software.  After reviewing the account, they went ahead and sent me new software, and had already activated it on my laptop.

The 13" Apple MacBook laptop starts around $1,199.  The 15" MacBook Pro starts around $1,699.  The Apple Care Protection Plan is $249 for the 13", and $349 for the 15" for coverage up to 3 years.

I also suggest the Microsoft Home Edition, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Entourage is @ $150, and includes up to three licenses.
